Find a niche. I kept hearing these words like a mantra from my friends and colleagues when I decided to start a blog.
I soon realized that having a niche and being passionate about the topics I cover isn’t enough to get my content in front of the right audience.
KWFinder gave me the tools I needed to find out the keywords my target audience was using and allowed me to keep track of my website’s performance in the SERP rankings.
I no longer use KWFinder because its tools aren’t powerful enough to accommodate my content marketing needs, but I think it is one of the best keyword tools for beginners.
In this KWFinder review, I’ll share with you everything I’ve learned about this tool and show you how to start using it to drive traffic to your blog.
2022 KWFinder Review
What is KWFinder?
Mangools is a software company based in Bratislava, Slovakia. Peter Hrbacik started the company in 2014 and launched its most successful product, the KWFinder, that same year.
Its ability to generate accurate keyword suggestion lists quickly has made KWFinder a popular entry-level option for anyone who’d like to generate traffic for their website.
Besides allowing users to find and save relevant keywords for their search terms, the app also gives them an overview of SERP ratings for the term they’re researching.
The app’s keyword-research market share in 2022 is around 18%, and the company generates between $2 and $5 million of annual revenue.
According to the publicly available data, Mangools’ software products have over a million users and 25,000 subscribers. Checking the accuracy of this information is difficult because the company doesn’t publish its annual revenue and user data regularly.
From the beginning, the Mangools focused on building user-friendly SEO tools for freelancers, affiliate marketers, and medium-sized advertising agencies.
In addition to a wide array of small and medium-sized businesses, the company’s client list includes big brands like Adidas, Airbnb, and Alexa.
Besides the KWFinder, Mangools offers SERPChecker, SERPWatcher, LinkMiner, and SiteProfiler tools.
Joining the platform will also give you access to all five apps and the Mangools SEO extensions for Google Chrome and Firefox web browsers, SERP Volatility Checker, and SERP Simulator.
Together, these apps form a comprehensive toolkit that allows users to develop and implement their SEO strategies.
Unlike SEMrush and other industry leaders, Mangools doesn’t offer social media management or content marketing tools.
The options KWFinder and other Mangools’ tools offer enable users to gather information they can use to choose blog topics that can rank on the Google search engine.
However, the software lacks the advanced functionalities that enable companies to run and manage online marketing campaigns.
Who Should Use KWFinder?
The software package is comprised of five products that let you perform the following tasks:
- Research keywords and find out the keyword difficulty score
- Check SERP ratings based on location
- Monitor the website’s rankings
- Analyze backlinks
- Determine the website’s authority level
None of the Mangools software products is difficult to use. So, bloggers or digital marketers with limited knowledge of SEO won’t have much trouble using them to boost the visibility of their content.
I relied on tool guides extensively when I first started using the KWFinder and other Mangools products.
Going through tutorials helped me understand the platform’s functionalities and learn how to utilize these tools to generate more traffic on my website.
KWFinder Key Features
Mangools offers an SEO toolkit that features five software products. Users have access to each product as soon as they create an account.
The platform’s interface is functional, so you won’t need much time to figure out how to switch from one tool to another or adjust keyword search parameters.
Let’s go through the core features of these SEO tools.
Keyword research tools
You can find all platform’s keyword search tools in the KWFinder app. You can access the tool from the Dashboard or directly from the Mangools’ home page.
The tool has Search, Import, Lists, and History tabs. Hence, you can easily add CVS or TXT keyword list files in the Import tab or create new keyword lists from the Lists tab.
The History tab gives you an overview of all keywords you searched for and allows you to revisit the results with a single click.
The Search tab is where you’ll be spending most of your time while working with KWFinder.
The tool’s search bar has three segments, and it lets you conduct your research using keywords or domains.
Once you insert a keyword or a domain, you have to set the location and language parameters before clicking the Find Keywords button.
The tool will generate the list of top-rated keywords for a specific search term as well as the Keyword Difficulty percentage, search volume graph, and an overview of SERP rankings.
Optionally you can click on the Questions tab to see the list of keyword questions associated with the term you’re researching or use the Autocomplete feature to generate additional keyword suggestions.
This feature can be useful because the Related Keywords tab only displays limited results for a term you’re researching.
Search Filters
Clicking on the Filter button will enable you to narrow down your search based on the following parameters:
- Search volume
- CCP
- PPC
- Included and excluded keywords
- Keyword difficulty
- Number of words
All results are created with KWFinder’s algorithm or pulled from the software’s keyword database.
Once you’ve completed the research, you can add the results you’ve selected to the List or export them from the software as CVS files.
Tool’s search filters enable you to eliminate keywords that don’t generate a lot of traffic or exclude keywords you saved in your lists from the search results.
Search Volume
This metric shows you the number of queries for each keyword result within a specified timeframe. The software can display search volumes for the last three, six, and twelve months or the last known values.
The platform recommends using shorter intervals to detect recent trends, while the 12-month option can help detect seasonal keywords.
KWFinder displays search volume graphs for each result based on monthly searches or recent trends.
Cost-per-Click and Pay-Per-Click
The average cost-per-click (CPC) isn’t directly related to SEO, but without it, you won’t be able to know how many clicks you can fit into your budget.
The metric shows how much a search engine charges for each click and enables you to estimate the costs of using a specific keyword in a Pay-per-Click (PPC) campaign.
The level of competition for each keyword is displayed in the PPC column enabling you to know how difficult it will be to monetize the content you build around a keyword.
Keyword Difficulty
Keyword difficulty isn’t a universal SEO metric, and it is the unique feature of the KWFinder. It is calculated based on the Link Profile Strength and URL’s position in the SERP rankings.
Its purpose is to inform you how difficult it is to get content with a particular keyword to the search engine’s first-page results.
Ideally, you should target results with keyword difficulty scores under 50 and avoid all results with scores over 85.
SERP Overview
You can find the table displaying the highest ranking results on the Google search engine for the keyword you’re researching.
All results are based on the latest available SERP data, but you can request fresh information if the results are generated with data from more than two weeks ago.
The SERP Overview table displays the following information:
- DA – Domain Authority reveals the domain’s ranking, and it is calculated with MozRank and MozTrust tools.
- PA – Page Authority shows the SERP ranking of specific webpages
- CF – Citation Flow measures the link’s influence by tracking the number of websites that use it.
- TF – Trust Flow ranks the link’s credibility
- Links – The metric shows the website’s number of backlinks
- FB – The number of times a link was shared on Facebook
- LPS – Link Profile Strength metric was developed by Mangools that shows how powerful a backlink is
- EV – Website’s estimated monthly visits
Clicking on the Analyze SERP button above the SEPR Overview table takes you to the SERPChecker app.
SERPChecker and SERPWatcher
The SERPChecker tool gives you access to all metrics you can find in the Overview table, as well as metrics like Website Popularity Rank, Referring Domains, and Referring IP addresses.
It also allows you to choose from more than thirty metrics you can view in the Results tab. You can save the results as a CVS file or a PNG image file.
The SERPWatcher lets you monitor the keyword ranking for a website you want to track. The tool doesn’t limit the number of websites you can track, and it shows you results for desktop and mobile devices.
However, the maximum number of keywords you can track will depend on the subscription plan you get. SERPWatcher lets users duplicate tracking and enables them to generate weekly or monthly reports.
LinkMiner
Mangools’ LinkMiner app makes discovering backlinks that can increase your website’s visibility easy.
Inserting a domain into the search bar and clicking on the Find Backlinks button will give you access to hundreds of reliable backlinks for that particular web address.
All suggestions are displayed in a table, and you can sort them based on metrics such as the number of external links from the page, website popularity rank, or HREF path.
The tool’s search filters enable you to look for links based on their strength, citation flow, source URL, and other parameters.
You can export the backlinks for a domain or exact URL from the app’s Export tab or view your previous search results in the History tab.
SiteProfiler
Running the website’s full analysis with the SiteProfiler tool will provide you with an abundance of valuable data.
The app gathers the information sorted into Overview, Backlinks, Top Content, and Competitors categories, making it easy to find out how many lost links a website had within a certain timeframe or its link type distribution.
The tool also offers information about the website’s popularity rank, referring IPs, Trust Flow, and other metrics within the period of one to twelve months.
In addition, you can use SiteProfiler to find related keywords for the website’s anchor texts or explore its popular content.
How Much Does KWFinder Cost?
Using KWFinder and other tools from the Mangools software suite for free isn’t an option. The platform has a ten-day free trial period during which you’ll have partial access to each tool.
So, you’ll have to purchase one of the subscription plans to get a taste of the Mangools’ capacity. The options you’ll have at your disposal will vary depending on the plan you pick.
Bear in mind that the platform’s annual pricing for each plan is much more affordable than monthly pricing, and committing to Mangools for a year can save you up to $600.
Here’s what you’ll get with each plan:

Is KWFinder Difficult to Use?
I’ve singled out the KWFinder as one of the best SEO tools for beginners on several occasions.
Its learning curve isn’t steep, and Mangools offers a bunch of learning materials to help novice users figure out how to make the most of the software’s functionalities.
All apps are accessible from the platform’s Dashboard, so you just have to click on the KWFinder or LinkMiner to launch a new keyword or backlink search.
The Dashboard also features free learning materials and the latest blog updates that cover SEO-related topics.
Even though KWFinder isn’t difficult to use, I suggest taking a few days to get used to its interface and test its features. Doing so can be helpful if you’re not sure how to use it for on-page SEO or export a CSV file.
KWFinder Tutorial: Creating an Account and Getting Started
1. Click on the Start 10-day Free Trial button in the upper right corner of the Mangools homepage

3. The platform will send the confirmation link to your email. Wait for the email to arrive, open it, and click on the link to activate the account.
4. Go to the Dashboard and open the Billing Info menu. Fill in the billing address and credit card details, and save the changes you made.
5. Click on the SEO extension and install the Chrome or Firefox add-on to your web browser.

Does KWFinder Have a Good Customer Service?
I was fortunate never to experience any issues that would require me to contact customer service.
Even so, I know that the easiest and quickest way to contact Mangools’ customer support is through the chat that hovers in the lower right corner of all website’s pages.
Sending an email is also an option, but you may have to wait a day or two for a reply.
I wouldn’t say that the level of support KWFinder users are getting is setting industry standards, but each of Mangools’ tools is easy to use, and most people never encounter a problem.
Mangools currently doesn’t have phone customer support, and you can’t talk to the customer service agent about the problem you’re trying to solve.
The platform has a 48-hour refund policy that enables users to claim refunds if they’re unhappy with the software.
What Are People Saying About KWFinder?
I’m not the only one who’s really appreciative of KWFinder and all other apps in the Mangools package.
Most online reviewers have positive opinions about the SaaS platform and praise its user-friendliness, the quality of the data it offers, and its affordability.
Mangools has a 4.4 Trust Score on Trustpilot based on 49 reviews.
Only eight reviews describe the software as bad, and the most common complaints are related to pricing plans and discount options.

Mangools is a small company with less than fifty employees.
Can I Buy Mangools Apps Separately?
You can’t purchase only KWFinder or SiteProfiler since all plans include all five apps.
Can I get private API access to the KWFinder?
You can, but you must contact customer support to find out the detail because none of the standard plans has this service.
My Verdict: Can KWFinder Help Improve Your Website’s SERP Rankings?
As an old KWFinder user who moved on to a more robust SEO tool long ago, I am fully aware of its limitations.
I don’t think the Mangools package has much to offer to professional digital marketers or online retailers.
But, the platform wasn’t built for professionals in need of advanced backlink analysis or detailed website metrics.
Instead, it is a near-perfect solution for bloggers, freelancers, and small e-Store owners.
It gives them everything they need to improve their website’s SERP ratings and find accurate keyword suggestions for their content.
All Mangools apps are easy to use, and you won’t need much time to get used to them, even if you’ve never used a keyword tool.
